February Week 1 Family Discipleship

This weeks memory verse is: 
 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. (1 John 5:21)

Here are a few questions for your family to discuss this week based on the teaching your kids received in class on Sunday. Space these questions out throughout the week and find natural times to bring them up. Use these questions to spark conversation over dinner or on a car ride.

Question One: Have you ever seen a golden cow before? Why do you think that the people of Israel made one?

Question Two: Why was it wrong for the Israelites to make a golden cow? Was there a commandment about this?

Question Three: How did God punish the Israelites? Have you ever been punished for doing something wrong?

Question Four: When Moses asked God not to completely destroy the people, what did God decide? Why do you think God made that decision?

Question Five: In what ways is Jesus like Moses? In what ways is Jesus better than Moses?
