Family Discipleship August Week 2

August 11th - 17th

Jeremiah Against Everyone

Watch the Youtube video of this week's lesson.
This weeks big truth is:
When we stand with God, he is for us even when everyone is against us.
This weeks memory verse is:
Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord
 (Jeremiah 1:8)

Here are a few questions for your family to discuss this week based on the teaching your kids received in class on Sunday. Space these questions out throughout the week and find natural times to bring them up. Use these questions to spark conversation over dinner or on a car ride.

Question One: What were some of the reasons God was angry with his people? What did he want them to do? What does he want us to do?

Question Two: Because the Israelites were disobeying, what message did God give Jeremiah for the people? Did the Israelites listen to the message and turn away from their sins? So what happened?

Question Three: Since Jeremiah was young when God called him to be a prophet, how did he feel about it? What did he say to God? And how did God comfort him?

Question Four: When Jeremiah spoke God's word to the Israelites, how did they treat him? What did God do for Jeremiah then?

Question Five: Despite all the bad news about judgement for disobedience, what good news did Jeremiah share about the new covenant that would come? How did Jesus bring this good news and rescue sinners from judgment?
