Family Discipleship February Week 1
February 2nd - 8th
The Voice is Silenced
Watch the Youtube video of this week's lesson.
This weeks big truth is:
We need faith to believe Jesus wins -- even when it looks like bad guys are winning.
We need faith to believe Jesus wins -- even when it looks like bad guys are winning.
This weeks memory verse is:
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
(Matthew 5:10)
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
(Matthew 5:10)
Here are a few questions for your family to discuss this week based on the teaching your kids received in class on Sunday. Space these questions out throughout the week and find natural times to bring them up. Use these questions to spark conversation over dinner or on a car ride.
Question One: Who were some people int he Old Testament that suffered even though they obeyed God? What did Jesus think about John the Baptist--was he a good guy or a bad guy? If he was a good guy, why did he go to prison?
Question Two: Some times bad things happen to good people. Have you ever gotten into trouble or had a problem even when you were doing the right thing?
Question Three: Do you think John was afraid while in prison? How would you feel if you were John? What do you think gave him hope?
Question Four: How did Jesus suffer like John? What gave Jesus hope when he was on the cross? How do we know Jesus conquered death? What will happen to evil when Jesus returns as King?
Question Five: What do we need to remember when it looks like the bad guys are winning?
