Family Discipleship August Week 3

August 18th - 24th

The Valley of Dry Bones

Watch the Youtube video of this week's lesson.
This weeks big truth is:
God has power to raise the dead to life.
This weeks memory verse is:
I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live.
(Ezekiel 37:14)

Here are a few questions for your family to discuss this week based on the teaching your kids received in class on Sunday. Space these questions out throughout the week and find natural times to bring them up. Use these questions to spark conversation over dinner or on a car ride.

Question One: Did Ezekiel give good or bad news, or both to Israel? What is the best news someone has ever given you?

Question Two: Since Israel was in exile, far from home, why did they need to hear good news? how would the good news encourage them?

Question Three: Can you take a pile of dust and create a person? how did God create Adam and Eve? How did God make the dry bones in Ezekiel's vision come to life? What does that tell us about God?

Question Four: When God says that we are 'dead in our sin," what do you think he means? If we can't live in a way that pleases God without his help, what should we do? How does God help us life for him?

Question Five: DWhen God promised that he would bring Israel back to the Land, how did he describe the king that would rule over them? Who is the forever King? How does this picture of dead bones rising from the grave remind you of Jesus?
