Family Discipleship September Week 1

September 1st - 7th

Writing on the Wall

Watch the Youtube video of this week's lesson.
This weeks big truth is:
God is so power that he controls kings and kimgdoms.
This weeks memory verse is:
God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
 (James 4:6)

Here are a few questions for your family to discuss this week based on the teaching your kids received in class on Sunday. Space these questions out throughout the week and find natural times to bring them up. Use these questions to spark conversation over dinner or on a car ride.

Question One: What do you remember about King Nebuchadnezzar? Was he a good or a bad king? What about his grandson King Belshazzar?

Question Two: King Belshazzar did something that really was really bad. Do you remember what that was? What made that so wrong?

Question Three: King Belshazzar was very prideful. Can you remember what that means? Have you ever been prideful? (Talk about an example of this with your family)

Question Four: What happens when we are too proud and think we are better than others, and even better than God?

Question Five: When Peter realized that Jesus had power over the fish and the seas, what did he do? What did Jesus say? What does God do when we humble ourselves and let him be the boss of our life?
